Private MiFi Hot Spot
Posted by James B. in Technology on May 10, 2009
Something that I thought was pretty cool is talked about in this article. It is called a MiFi or a 3G Router. It is a great idea but it is still not worth the cost. I am of the opinion that they need to bring the price down even more before this takes well with consumers. You can read the article from the New York Times here:

Microsoft outlines Windows 7 anti-piracy measures
Posted by James B. in Technology on May 9, 2009
One of the things that I see as a lost cause is Microsoft’s attempts at anti-piracy. It seems that everytime they come up with a new measure to fight this it just backfires. An article on pcauthority.com.au talks about the new anti-piracy measures.
Microsoft has announced that the forthcoming Windows 7 operating system will contain a number of piracy ‘tweaks’ designed to protect its own interests and those of its customers
I think that Microsoft needs to focus more on what will make the user experience and workflow better rather than try to hinder it and make it more convoluted. Joe Williams, general manager for Worldwide Genuine Windows at Microsoft states:
“Consumers face potential identity theft, system failures and unrecoverable data loss,” he said. “Market research firm IDC pegs the cost of compromised data in business environments at tens of thousands of dollars per incident.”
What this has to do with anti-piracy is totally beyond me. Check out the article here:
