It is nice to see that Vyatta is getting some backing to keep pushing forward with their amazing product. I have been following this project for a while now watching how it evolves and even being tempted to try to push this on to some of the upper management here at my work as a replacement for some of our gear. Vyatta Solution Provides End-to-End Routing and Security Without Causing Financial Heartburn
In Portland Texas, Vyatta software was used as the core router with 24 GigE ports as well as in smaller units in patrol cars, fire vehicles, microwave towers, servers in various city buildings and more to create a MAN (Metro Area Network). Vyatta is used for routing, firewall, VPN and intrusion prevention to connect & protect the city’s data and VoIP infrastructure.
